Alumni Game Success!

This last Saturday, our Boys' and Girls' Varsity Basketball Team competed against Nativity's Alumni at our second annual Basketball Alumni Game. The boys played a hard game and won against Alumni going as far back as the class of 1996! Though the Alumni seemed to be giving them a couple freebies after their 12-0 starting lead. The score was tied 46-46 with less than a minute left. The Boys' Varsity Team was able to make their final layup to ensure their win with a final score of 48-46 After that game, it was the girls' turn to show what they've got against their Alumni. The girls played their toughest game yet, having to go against two former CYO Athletes of the year, one of them being the one and only, Kayla Padilla. The girls kept up pretty well, but unfortunately could not defeat the girls alumni team. Now, having a winner from each game, it was only appropriate that the two winning teams faced off against each other! The boys, having had a game off, were rejuvenated and ready to face our tired alumni girls. With Kayla having to leave early for her own game, the boys seemed to find it easier to score on the alumni than our Girls Varsity Team did. Once it was apparent that the girls alumni needed some help, the boys alumni and Girls Varsity Team ran to their assistance. History was made when all three Magno siblings, Gilbert '01, Gabby '03 and Gian '17, played with each other in the same game. The Alumni had great effort and support, but unfortunately could not defeat our Boys' Varsity Team. Student Council would like to thank everyone who came out and participated in this event. Our Nativity Community is so special and it is a great experience to see all Bruins, parents, past and current students, come together as the one family we all are. A good bruin always comes back. Once a Bruin, Always a Bruin!
