Bishop Montgomery High School's Newest Knight in Shining Armor

To some people, she is the 2015 CYO Athlete of the Year, the only freshman on the D1 Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team, the only person in Nativity's history to have their jersey retired, or a Valedictorian for her 8th grade class. To us, she is simply our Kayla Padilla, an outstanding individual and a loving member of Nativity’s Community. Kayla Padilla is the only freshman chosen to have the honor of playing for Bishop Montgomery High School’s Varsity Lady Knights. The Lady Knights, who have won CIF Division IV the last two years, have been moved up to Division I. Kayla, not only has stepped up to the challenge, but also is soaring with success. Kayla’s current stats at Bishop Montgomery are:

16.9 points per game
6.4 rebounds
2.4 blocks
3.8 steals
4.9 assists

Besides her impressive stats, she has also led the Knights in scoring on numerous occasions. Kayla’s most recent success was being named one of the Nation’s Freshmen To Watch for Girls’ High School Basketball. We Nativity would like to congratulate Kayla on all her success. We couldn’t be more proud of her. Though she is without a doubt a Knight in Shining Armor now, she will always be a Bruin at heart and Nativity’s Queen of the Court. Congratulations!
